Bonnie Parker
Lead. Female. Playing age: 18-25
Vocal range top: F5
A “ravishing redhead” who is beautiful, talented, passionate and easily seduced by love, fame and the promise of a better life. In an alternate reality she could be a movie star, and in her own reality she is. This is another star turn opportunity for a talented actress who can belt a song with the best of them.
Ethnicity: Ethnically Ambiguous / Multiracial
Clyde Barrow
Lead. Male. Playing age: 18-25
Vocal range top: C5
Devastatingly charming with a winning smile. Raised in absolute poverty and dreams of a better life through fame and ill-gotten fortune. Passionate, impulsive and single minded - he is Bonnie's partner in love and crime. The role requires a strong singing voice, with an impressive range . This is a star turn for a leading actor type.
Ethnicity: Ethnically Ambiguous / Multiracial
Blanche Barrow
Lead. Female. Playing Age: 25-35
Vocal range top: Eb5
Buck’s wife who is religious and strong willed, while fiercely loyal. Prim and proper on the surface, with a sexy edge underneath. This is a classic Wildhorn character actress role, strong willed and funny, with more than her fair share of belted key changes.
Ethnicity: Ethnically Ambiguous / Multiracial
Eleanor
Lead. Female. Playing age: 20-40
Vocal Range Top : F5
One of three women from the town who all have husbands in jail - and are making the most of it. These are three singing and acting roles for actresses with some great comic timing.

Cumie Barrow
Lead. Female. Playing age: 40-55
Mother to Clyde and Buck. A kind woman among those suffering in the Depression. Loyal and selfless. A non-singing role – but needs to bring pathos and stability to the Barrow family. Can play in ensemble as well.
Ethnicity: Ethnically Ambiguous / Multiracial
Emma Parker
Lead. Female. Playing age: 40-55
Bonnie's widowed mother. Fragile, caring, sensitive. A role for a good character actress that shows what could have been had Bonnie settled for a quieter life.
Ethnicity: Ethnically Ambiguous / Multiracial
Governor Miriam Ferguson
Lead. Female. Playing age: 40-60
An enforcer of the law and Governor of Texas. Tough and harsh – the first female governor and a complete ball buster. A great role for an actress who can own the stage with a look.
Ethnicity: Ethnically Ambiguous / Multiracial
Ted Hinton
Lead. Male. Playing age: 18-25
Vocal range top: A4
A police officer – good, kind and decent. Not that it gets him what he really wants, which is reflected in his unrequited love for Bonnie. Ah Ted. He’s who your mum wants you to date. A great role for an actor who can connect with an audience and has a sweet singing voice.
Ethnicity: Ethnically Ambiguous / Multiracial
Marvin "Buck" Barrow
Lead. Male. Playing age: 25-35
Vocal range top: G4
Clyde’s brother – torn between his loyalty to his brother and his love for his wife. Has an adventurous streak, which conflicts with his wish for a quiet life with his wife. This is a great opportunity for a character actor who has great comic timing and can take the audience on a journey.
Ethnicity: Ethnically Ambiguous / Multiracial
Bob Alcorn
Lead. Male. Playing age: 30-45
The best sharpshooter in Texas. Recruited by Frank Hamer, he helps hunt down Bonnie and Clyde.
Ethnicity: Ethnically Ambiguous / Multiracial
Henry Barrow
Lead. Male. Playing age: 45-55
A hard-working man, struggling to survive. Humble and quiet. Father of Clyde and Buck. Much like Emma Parker, Henry shows us the struggle that all people were going through in the depression. A man of few words, this actor needs an expressive face and good physical acting skills.
Ethnicity: Ethnically Ambiguous / Multiracial
Preacher
Lead. Male. 45-60
Vocal range top: C5
The town’s evangelist preacher – loud, boisterous and more a performer than a holy man.
Major cameo with 2 great show-stopping songs. This role is for an actor with a great presence, a wicked smile and a powerful gospel voice.
Ethnicity: Ethnically Ambiguous / Multiracial
Captain Frank Hamer
Lead. Male. 45-65
A retired Texas Ranger who joins the hunt for Bonnie and Clyde. Recruited by Governor Ferguson as ‘one last job’ before retiring. Complete badass.
