AUDITIONS
Auditions will be held on June 8th at Bristol Central High School from 10AM to 4PM. Parents, please drop off your student for the day and pack a lunch for them! We will have staff on hand to oversee the day and play games, etc if there is any downtime. Students who cannot attend should make arrangements with staff prior to June 8th. ALL students are encouraged to audition regardless of their interest in a particular role/ensemble. Students who cannot attend auditions (and do not make other arrangements) will be placed in the ensemble.
Prior to auditions, please complete the appropriate form:

All regular rehearsals will take place at BAIMS, M-W-F, 9 AM-2PM.
June 21st is the start date. The day will begin at 8:45 AM. An adult is encouraged/invited to attend with their child for a brief morning meeting in the gym.
General Camp Information
Students should not arrive more than 15 minutes early and students must be picked up on time. The staff will not stay more than 15 minutes after rehearsal. If extra rehearsal time is needed toward the performance date, you will be informed well in advance of the change.
*** Please inform the staff, in writing, or at morning drop off if you are picking up a student prior to ending time. Communication about schedule conflicts, etc is key to a successful rehearsal process. The program requires commitment, dedication and a team effort. DAILY ATTENDANCE IS MOST IMPORTANT!! We must be informed in advance of all vacation days or activities which would require absence from rehearsals because this will affect rehearsal scheduling.
Dress for rehearsals is comfortable, appropriate clothing which will allow freedom of movement and dance. Closed-toe shoes are preferable.
Students are not allowed to leave the school without permission and should not be in any other part of the school other than assigned areas.
Students should bring a lunch and a water bottle with them daily.
ONLY THOSE STUDENTS INVOLVED IN THE PRODUCTION WILL BE ALLOWED TO ATTEND REHEARSALS. PLEASE DO NOT ASK TO BRING FRIENDS.
If a student has any special medical or behavioral problems, please share this information with a staff member and in required documents.
Participant Expectations
1. Attendance –The workshop requires commitment, dedication and a team effort. DAILY ATTENDANCE IS MOST IMPORTANT!! We must be informed in advance of all vacation days or activities which would require absence from rehearsals because this will affect scheduling and casting. Emergency absence due to illness must be called in to the site coordinator by 9:00 that day. Call Jyllian at 203-558-5358 or Lindsey at 860-919-6801. Please do not call BAIMS. Our office managers are awesome but cannot field your questions/take messages etc as GUSCO/RST is a separate entity.
Please plan vacations before or after the program. If a child misses the program for vacation, it cannot be assumed that he/she can “make up” missed work. The rehearsal schedule is tight and once something has been taught, it is nearly impossible to fit in the time to teach it to someone who was not there. If a child is missing from the learning of a dance or scene, it is likely that he/she will not have an opportunity to be added after the fact. As always, it is our goal to include as many students as possible in as much of the show as possible. However, when students are missing from the ensemble, it is very difficult to “pretend” they are there when blocking dances and scenes.
2. Conduct – Students will behave appropriately at all times. This includes being positive and encouraging to other cast members, as well as being a productive member of the cast. Summer theater staff cannot tolerate anyone whose behavior distracts or inhibits the rehearsal process (talking, fooling around, not keeping hands to self, etc.) Working together is fun and exciting but we need to maintain a working environment which is conducive to our creativity and development!
3. Attitude – Theater is fun!! Theater is a group activity!! There is no “I” in THEATER!! This program is designed for students who love theater, want to learn more about theater, or are at least willing to try their hardest to do their best, no matter what they are asked to do.
4. Focus – Talent levels vary in Summer Theater. It is CRUCIAL that EVERYONE focuses and participates fully in all aspects of rehearsal. No one is exempt from giving 100%. This includes not only DOING, but also NOT talking and distracting when it’s not your turn to “DO.” We will not be tolerant of distractions.
5. Materials—All students are responsible for materials given to them during the program (i.e. Costumes, scripts, vocal books). Students who do not return materials will be charged for a replacement.
Discipline Policy
1st infraction – a warning and a phone call home
2nd infraction – dismissal from the program
